Independent Recording Rapper “ Mula Migz “ was born and raised from 1990 in Brooklyn, New York. As a young kid he looked up to many artist such as Tupac, Biggie , LiL Wayne and Jay Z. He always dreamed of being one of the most talked about rapper in the industry. Ron Dash music is new fresh different old new rap pop indie dance boom. Every track has a supermodel hanging from its arm while boarding private helicopters transporting the party from rooftop to rooftop. Ron Dash’s tunes inspire celebration, good energy jams you can put on at any time of the day and get lost in. His melodies embody good company, great experiences, strong personalities and stronger drinks.
When Ron isn’t in the studio mixing jams, he is photographing awesome people and things. He first started recording with Danny Newport and Kapano at 5th quarter productions in 2011. He was featured on the Booster Club mixtape with such songs as Dash with Me, Famous and Ole Voila. He also made an appearance on tune Cardigan with Danny Newport and DRE. He is currently working with several producers in the Philadelphia Area and on an EP named Disco Eclipse.

TMC: What sets you apart from other artists?
RD: outside of the actual music that i make with my camp at 5th quarter productions shout out danny newport and kapano, i wouldn't say that i am really different from any artist i pull a lot of my ideas and lyrics from life and past influences. I think music and art are at very transitional point right now with so many people having access to so much and i think its a beautiful thing. So i am just riding the waves like everyone else.

RD: my favorite thing would have to be the level of freedom that i have to be able to create and show the world what i see and getting the feedback back whether it be negative or positive. A lot of people don't have that opportunity and have to live vicariously through others works and words.
TMC: Tell us something people may not know about Ron Dash?

TMC: Introduce yourself. FJ: I'm FLy Jay (yes the 'FL' are capitalized). I'm primarily a Hip Hop/Rap artist and producer, but I also delve into more mellow, instrumental, Electro-influenced music like Deep House, Dub, and a style that I just call Electronic Funk.I'm more of an intellectual street-poet on the mic. I don't really kick "conscious-rap" per say, but it's thinking-people's music for the most part. I don't think about anything in life in the ways that most people do and it reflects in my lyrics and style of sound. I challenge a LOT of conventional wisdom (if you can call it that) in my lyrics. But overall, and bottom-line, if you listen closely it's something that anyone can relate to - IF you're honest with yourself.
I'm highly highly lyrical, not so much punch-line type, but definitely lyrical as far as syllable structure and cleverness with the rhymes and lines, and the type of things I say...ok can I stop extolling my own virtues now? hahah.
TMC: What made you pursue music? FJ: I don't know what made me start. I played saxophone as a young kid, and hung out with my older cousin in the studio he had when I was a teenager. But I'm heavily inspired to do music by the visual arts, women, and just anything aesthetic.
TMC: What sets you apart from other artists? FJ: I'd say, my ways of thinking and approaching music. I don't look at my efforts and feel as though I HAVE to incorporate what's popular in order to feel relevant. I don't follow trends. I also don't rely on anyone for anything. Right now, I don't even have a manager, I don't have friends helping me push my music or anything like that. It's just me 100% in the lab, spending the dough, contacting industry people, DJs, clubs and what not.
As far as sonically, I'm more laid back in my style. I don't come out as an "in your face" type just attacking and barraging you with lyrics and lines. I don't "spit", I "flow". My sound is more mature than most rappers. I don't make you bounce and "get wild", I make you chillax.
Also, I switch in and out of genres and styles at will and with great ease. It's not like I can ONLY rap, or do ONLY Rap/HipHop, and when I do cross genres into some more eclectic style of music, it sounds and feels natural - not something weird or forced.
TMC: What's something people may not know about you?
FJ: I think that I've recorded under different names. I've only been FLy Jay for a few years, but I have about 10 years in this music and I've been other artists. There's other things, but I guess that would be personal and I'm not too fond of my personal life being public.
TMC: What projects do you have planned for the near future?
FJ: I have 3 Hip Hop/Rap records planned for 2013. After that, I'm hoping to just do a lot of touring and a great deal of producing for other artists.
TMC: What do you feel about the future of music?FJ: "As far as Hip Hop, I think it's in trouble. If you look closely, the biggest name artists are the least lyrically skilled, but they have the BEST beats. Furthermore, I feel as though the real thoughtfulness in lyrical content is dwindling like never before. The ignorance or just stupidity is at a staggering height. Rap is pretty much a big commercial right now. If you look at Rap videos, all you see is material, and just highly non-substantial content. I'm pretty sure that's by design, because Rap is very very powerful, and can be a vehicle for change in a lot of thought, but it's been hijacked and is now used to sell just about anything, in addition to the lifestyle and mind-set of hyper consumerism.
Also, it's so closed-circle and political it's virtually impossible for anyone outside of any powerful network to emerge fully. It's insecure because a clique or power base will do all in their efforts to shun you or keep you from coming up if they feel it threatens or steals their shine or that of their artists that they're trying to promote. It's set up now that you can only buy your way into the game, even without talent. You see it manifest in the DJ releases, the video shows, the radio programs, the blog sites or online magazines, etc..you can't get in unless you pay...and if they only accept folks who pay, the dollar becomes the bottom line as opposed to the talent. So if someone is a pay-for-play outlet or DJ or radio show, etc, then what will stop them from playing or showcasing someone who is wack, but paying

TMC: When you're in the booth laying down your lyrics, who are some of the people who've inspired you lyrically and musically?
H2: My musical influences are Jay Z, Nas, Biggie, AZ, and Fabolous. However, lyrically my 2 sons inspire me to write. They give me the motivation to succeed and provide a better way of life for them.

H2: I believe what makes me unique is that I am a triple threat...rapping, modeling and acting. I've been blessed with the talent and gift to do all three. What sets me apart from many artists is I still believe in the art of music. My approach is to make timeless music that transcends the current fad and crosses cultural barriers. I work hard to make good music for everybody, not just one group of people.

TMC: Tell us about your upcoming mixtape, Rap Heals All Wounds. About some of the tracks you've recorded and the meaning behind the title?
H2: I came up with the title Rap Heals All Wounds because it's something that's reality for me. I grew up with a lot of adversity, my family and struggle was hard. Felt like I was at war...rapping and music is therapeutic for me. It has allowed me to release a lot of pain and hurt from my upbringing and channel it into a more positive way rather than the negative street life. Lonely, one of the tracks on the upcoming mixtape, talks about my family...growing up with no father and a mother struggling to raise 7 children on her own. It was hard, we didn't have the things a lot of kids in my neighborhood had. But although I grew up in a large household, I still was a lonely child, feeling like I really had no one. I lost a lot of friends to the street life and got caught up in things I should not have. This song takes you through the different stages of my life growing up as a kid and then how I felt when my moms died...it tore my family apart. This saga continues....stay tuned!
TMC: What's something people would be surprised to discover about you?
H2: I had dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. I was good at bball too. My goal was to go to college and eventually make it in the NBA, but the streets, the hustle got me first.
TMC: Trying to come up as a new artist can be full of ups and downs. What keeps you motivated as an artist?
H2: My family keeps my motivated. When I see where I grew up and how people in my old neighborhood are still doing the same thing, seeing some of the same people still on the corner or locked up, fuels me to grind harder. I love music and I'm committed to being the best artist I can be, putting out quality music no matter what, telling my story. Being a mentor and positive influence on people who have had the same struggle I have motivates me.

Gerome “Shortie Mac” Thomas, the middle of three children, began rhyming when he was just two years old, freestyling to the sound of his father’s radio. As word began to spread, the buzz about Shortie Mac was undeniable.
